So who thinks their IOP will go well?

I don't know about you guys, but I am scared. I fell like I am prepared enough, I just can't present myself very well when it comes to oral presentations. I have a game all day on Saturday, so The only real work I will be able to put in is on Sunday and Monday after school. Ever since that guy from Tulsa came, I have somewhat been able to work harder and complete things without procrastinating. I read from Chapter 7 to 18 in TEWWG (Which turned out to be better than I thought) in one day. That, in my case, is unheard of, at least for a required reading. So I hope I can complete this minute by minute thing and have a decent presentation ready on time. I am just wondering if anyone has had the same problem.

I think you'll do fine. Use your travel time to your advantage to mark quotations you want to examine during the I.O.P. Don't forget to e-mail me your new concept once you have it. Good luck!

The I.O.P. can't be much worse then the 10 pg essay so just take a deep breath and get it done. I'm sure Mista G will grade easy anyways...

and if you get nervous speaking in front of people try focusing on an objecton the back wall of the room or on the mike that will be in front of you. Once you found your object try and pretend nobody else is in the room. This should take your nerves away by the truckload. Also if your able to do this successfully please tell me how.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up. will I have my practicing materials but I go fourth on Monday. so I hope that gives me enough time to practice. I just really hope my presentation s good enough to where I can feel happy that it is over with instead of "I wish I had done better." At least I am not the only one with the problem. Thanks guys.

Dylan thats some good advice, if only you could do that. Lucky for me I get to present on the last day!

Practice, practice, practice. It will relieve some of the pressure. Telling a joke before you present also can help lighten the tension (just do it before I hit record). Or you can say or do something purposefully embarassing before you present, so that the actual presentation will seem a relief in comparison. At least you are presenting to people that are in the same boat as you, so you have some compassion. Prepare and practice and you will do fine.
